Galleri Franz Pedersen was founded in 1982 by Franz Pedersen, who ran it together with his wife, Eva Sinding. In 2007, their son Kasper Pedersen took over the leadership after fifteen years in the gallery. In 2019, Kasper’s wife Kamille and their son Arthur joined the gallery as the third generation.
In its early years, the gallery represented prominent figures in Danish contemporary art such as Wilhelm Freddie, Svend W. Hansen, and Sven Dalsgaard. In the late 1980s, artists associated with De Unge Vilde – including Michael Kvium, Christian Lemmerz, and Lise Malinovsky – became part of the program. Over time, the roster has expanded to also include the late Jean Rustin, Jacob Rantzau, Christoffer M. Andersen, Jacob Brostrup, Maria Rubinke, among others.
Under Kasper’s leadership, the gallery has strengthened its profile. Today, its concept is based on a clear vision: to present contemporary art of high quality and to serve as a link between artists, collectors, and the public – with a particular focus on project-based initiatives.
