About the Gallery
Galleri Franz Pedersen was founded in 1982 by Franz Pedersen, who ran the gallery together with his wife, Eva Sinding. In 2007, their son Kasper Pedersen took over the management after fifteen years at the gallery. In 2019, Kamille, Kasper’s wife, and their son Arthur joined the gallery, representing the third generation.
In its early years, the gallery represented significant figures in Danish contemporary art such as Wilhelm Freddie, Svend W. Hansen, and Sven Dalsgaard. In the late 1980s, artists associated with De Unge Vilde—including Michael Kvium, Christian Lemmerz, and Lise Malinovsky—became part of the programme. Over time, the roster of artists has expanded to also include the late Jean Rustin, Jacob Rantzau, Christoffer M. Andersen, Jacob Brostrup, Maria Rubinke, among others.
Under Kasper’s leadership, the gallery has strengthened its profile. Today, its concept is based on a clear vision: to present high-quality contemporary art and to act as a link between artists, collectors, and the public—with a particular focus on project-based initiatives.
