In I can feel coming back again, René Holm returns to his recurring visual language of tents and temporary shelters set in desolate forest landscapes. Here, a golden tent glows amidst a stark woodland scene, its light both comforting and artificial—suggesting refuge, fantasy, or fleeting salvation. Bare tree trunks create a grid-like structure around the tent, while the deep blue sky above feels both serene and ominous. As in much of Holm’s work, the scene hovers between safety and solitude, between longing and dislocation. The piece evokes themes of displacement, memory, and identity - yet also gestures toward the quiet hope of return or renewal.
