Bronze
56 x 97 x 31 cm.
In Torso, Christian Lemmerz explores the human form as both vessel and battlefield. The roughly modelled surface, marked by ruptures and scars, lends the bronze figure an emotional and tactile intensity. As if trapped in the process of disintegration, the body appears monumental and fragile at once—echoing themes of decay, trauma, and existential vulnerability.
Lemmerz’s mastery of material is evident in the tension between smooth contours and eruptive textures, evoking a sense of something once whole, now irrevocably broken yet still persistently present.
