Jacob Rantzau2017 - 2026

Arv (Hav)

Oil on Canvas
370 x 190 cm.
In the monumental Inheritance (Sea), Jacob Rantzau brings together a group of children playing in shallow water beneath a bright, almost idyllic sky. Their moving bodies and splashing water initially evoke a carefree summer scene, while the deep red tones of the water introduce a more ambiguous atmosphere. The title Inheritance opens the work towards questions of what is passed from one generation to the next.
