In INTELIGENCIJA, MAK DIZDAR, Dino Cama draws on the Bosnian poet Mak Dizdar and his engagement with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s medieval cultural heritage and the monumental stećci tombstones. The elongated figure carries a multitude of signs and symbols, while bamboo, collage, and the raw wooden panel reinforce the work’s connection between the individual, history, and material. For Cama, Dizdar becomes a point of departure for exploring memory, identity, and what survives us through culture and storytelling. The work also incorporates references to Mediterranean history and the Battle of Lepanto in 1571, bringing different historical traces together within a single visual world. The artwork measures 183 × 98 cm and 186 × 99 cm including the frame.
