Dino Cama2026
HISTERIA
Sold
Water Colour
21 x 27 cm.
HISTERIA belongs to Dino Cama’s series of hat-wearing figures, originating in a childhood memory from the artist’s first journey to the Balkans and an encounter with his grandmother’s eldest brother in the mountains of Montenegro. Throughout the series, Cama moves away from literal portraiture, allowing memory, imagination, and cultural transformation to merge. In HISTERIA, the figure emerges beneath a distinctive patterned hat, while translucent washes of green, yellow, and violet dissolve the body and its surroundings. The work reflects on how identity and inheritance are continually reshaped by time, geography, migration, and the communities to which we belong.
