Carla Kjærgaard2026
Elongated Longing
Price: 19,000 DKK
Oil on Canvas
150 x 110 cm.
In Elongated Longing, Carla Kjærgaard creates an almost monochromatic pictorial space in which deep reds and pinks flow into one another. A paler organic form emerges along the right side, while shadows, transitions, and traces of paint create a subtle sense of depth within the saturated field of colour. Figurative references are reduced to a minimum, giving the work a distinctly sensory and abstract quality. The title adds an emotional dimension, suggesting longing as something stretched out and suspended within the painting itself.
